Common questions
Useful details
Where do I start?
If you know the service, visit that area or send an enquiry. If several things overlap, use the short Find Support guide. It is for orientation and does not diagnose.
How do I know which service I need?
You do not need to decide alone. Describe the broad situation and EHG can explain whether an internal service, external specialist, GP or another route appears most appropriate.
Can EHG refer me elsewhere?
EHG can offer referral information or signposting. The relationship to any provider will be clearly labelled, and availability or suitability cannot be guaranteed.
Are sessions online?
Yes. Online services are available across the UK and may also be accessed internationally, subject to suitability and any service-specific professional requirements.
Do you offer face-to-face support?
In-person work may be arranged in Essex and Cambridgeshire. EHG does not host from a fixed venue; the practitioner travels to the agreed client, team or organisational location.
What happens after I contact EHG?
EHG reviews the broad enquiry and aims to reply within two working days. A free initial consultation usually takes place before booking unless the person has come through an agreed referral route.
Can I work with more than one EHG professional?
Potentially, when each role has a clear purpose and information-sharing is agreed. EHG would avoid duplicating work or sharing sensitive information without an appropriate basis.
What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy addresses psychological and emotional difficulties within a therapeutic agreement. Coaching usually focuses on defined goals and performance or development. The practitioner, scope, confidentiality and limits should be clear for each service.
How does EHG support a diagnostic pathway?
EHG can complete appropriate pre-screening tools and assessments that contribute useful information towards diagnosis. Formal diagnosis is completed by a suitably regulated clinician, and EHG can refer the individual along the appropriate route. Where diagnosis is outside the purpose of the work, EHG may complete a psychological formulation.
Do you work with athletes?
Yes. Coach Dann works with amateur and aspiring athletes through to elite and professional competitors. His experience spans tennis, football, American football, basketball, track and field, bodybuilding and boxing.
Do you work with organisations?
Yes. EHG can discuss talks, workshops, training and consultation. A proposal is created around the organisation’s context and desired outcome.
Can I access EHG outside Essex?
Yes. Online services are available across the UK and internationally. In-person work may be arranged in Essex or Cambridgeshire.
How much do services cost?
Fees vary by service and are agreed before work begins. Nutrition pricing follows the free consultation because each plan reflects the information gathered. Discounts may be available for students and people working with the NHS, military or emergency services. Performance retainers and further packages can also be discussed.
How does pay it forward work?
People can contact EHG to contribute towards another person’s support. A donor may pay for a friend or ask for the contribution to support someone in a particular group, such as a nurse. EHG will explain how the contribution can be allocated before payment is accepted.
What if I need urgent mental-health support?
EHG is not an emergency service. Use NHS 111 and choose the mental-health option for urgent help, or call 999/go to A&E if there is immediate danger or someone cannot stay safe.
