Physical health
Movement that belongs in your life
Training, strength, fitness and everyday movement considered alongside health, confidence, time, recovery and mental wellbeing.
The starting point
A useful plan starts with the person’s current capacity, environment and reasons for change. EHG provides individual plans and coaching through Level 3-qualified personal training and above, supported by additional training in weight management and nutrition. Clinical concerns are referred to the appropriate professional.
Ways that EHG may help
The EHG team provides online personal training, individual programmes, home or gym-based training, strength and conditioning, general fitness and lifestyle support.
- Goals and readiness conversation
- Pre-exercise screening online or in person
- Progressive, practical programmes
- Review and adjustment
- Referral for pain, injury or medical concerns when needed
Qualifications and screening
Personal training is provided by practitioners qualified to Level 3 or above. Nutritional training includes study through the Weight Management and Nutrition Centre. Screening can take place online or in person and covers health history, symptoms, medication, current activity, goals and readiness. GP or clinical review is requested where the information indicates that it is needed.
Health before intensity
Training should match current ability and relevant health information. New, unexplained or worsening symptoms, acute injury and clinical rehabilitation need assessment by a GP, physiotherapist or other suitable professional.
A qualified professional network
EHG can draw on qualified professionals when the current practitioner is unavailable or a different specialism is required. Network details are not being published at this stage. Before an introduction, EHG will explain the professional’s role and whether the contact is an EHG service, an external recommendation or general signposting.
Connected, with consent
Physical activity can affect mood, sleep and confidence, while stress and life demands affect training. Collaboration across services would happen only where appropriate and with clear consent.
