DBT-informed support

Practical skills from dialectical behaviour therapy used within an appropriate integrative service.

Everything healthbecause it all matters.

The starting point

DBT-informed work can support mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. The wording matters: using DBT-informed skills is not the same as providing a full comprehensive DBT programme.

01

Skills with context

A skill is useful when it matches the person’s needs and circumstances. Work may involve noticing emotional cues, surviving a difficult moment safely, communicating clearly or balancing acceptance with change.

02

What EHG currently offers

DBT-informed methods may form part of individual integrative therapy. EHG does not currently claim to provide a comprehensive DBT team programme with all standard components.

03

When specialist provision is indicated

People with high or complex risk may need coordinated specialist care. Suitability and safety are reviewed before and during work, with signposting or referral where needed.
